If you're planning to give birth in the hospital, make sure that you and your
doctor are in agreement about when you want to leave home. You don't want to
arrive at the hospital too soon, in the best case you will spend long hours
in the hospital room with nothing to do, in the worst case the hospital will
turn you away. On the other hand, you don't want to stay at home too long and
give birth in the car on the way to the hospital.

There is no set rule on when to head to the hospital. You should always follow
your instincts and your doctor’s advise. Here are few guidelines that
can help you make decision. Head for the hospital when contractions are:

1. four minutes apart or less;

2. lasting for 60 seconds or longer;

3. occurring consistently for one hour or longer;

4. so painful that you cannot talk during them;

5. or if you instinctively feel that it's time to go.

If this is your second, third child or subsequent child, the labor usually
progress more quickly. The Contractions Calculator keeps track of how many minutes
pass between contractions and of how long contractions last. You tell the software
when contractions start and end with a press of a button. The software does
not explicitly tell you when to head for the hospital, but the contractions
timing data presented visually greatly simplify the decision making process.
In addition, the software includes a checklist of what to bring with you when
you head for the hospital. Good luck!

Features

* Intuitive interface - indicate start and end of contractions with a click
of the Navigation button.

* Monitor the interval between contractions and contractions duration on the
longitudinal graphs.

* All contractions data are saved into a file and can be reviewed and edited
in a History display.

* You can save all contractions data into a text file for copying to PC,
transferring into Excel, or sharing with your physician.

* The checklist of what to bring with you when you head for the hospital.

* You can turn your Pocket PC off between contractions.
